Enough with the Cover Flow Already.

The beta of Safari 4 is out and here are our quick impressions.

-It's fast. We mean really fast. Remember when Mac users were stuck with the ungodly slow MS Internet Explorer? Thankfully those days are long gone.

-We are not sure about the placement of the new tabs. Very Google Chrome like. Maybe we're just too lazy to move our mouse up that far.

-Cover Flow? On a browser? Does any one truly use Cover Flow, other than impressing your Windows using friends with some eye candy? We don't need it in iTunes or the Finder and we certainly don't need it in Safari. Enough with the Cover Flow already :)

What are your thoughts?

On your cover flow comment. I think cover flow is great. I been using it for search and preview tons of file and images from day one. I feel it is very usefully to view my bookmark page. I just wish I had the same spacebar feature to enlarge the page as a preview in another window.

I never use cover flow. I think it's just too damn slow. When I need to go through a list of files or my music I need to go through the list fast. Sure it's decorative and looks nice, but it eats up too many system resources and it is pointless. In regards to Safari 4, I can say lately I've been glued to Firefox. But this new version might get me to switch back and use it more often. I like Safari but I felt the Firefox is snappier and moves quicker. I'm going to download the beta now and give it a try. But cover flow, not a very productive feature at all. Cheers.

This would actually bemore relevant than any other aplication of cover flow. It would allow you to browse your history even more quickly tan you already do. Besides there is nothing wrong with an eye candy to impress window users.
