Woz, It Was Fun While It Lasted

Tonight it was the end of the line for "Woz" on Dancing With The Stars. Despite a valiant fan effort to keep him alive last week, he just couldn't get enough votes to avoid tonight's tough double-elimination. Kudos Woz, for doing what you wanted to do, doing something outside of your comfort zone, and having a great time doing it, even through injury. While we're disappointed this means we won't have the Ballmer dance-off of our dreams, I think you inspired many people out there to go after something that they wouldn't normally try. Thanks again, Woz!

Woz Defies The Odds With Your Help

You can't say Apple fans aren't a loyal bunch. Especially to Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. In what might be the biggest shocker in Dancing With The Stars history, Woz survived last night elimination, despite having the lowest score the week before. In fact he wasn't even subjected to the Dance-Off, an agony I'm pretty sure was created by the minds behind 7th grade dances. At any rate, DWTS bases rankings on both judges' scores, and viewer votes. The exact way those votes are tabulated is more than a bit of mystery and has led to some questions of legitimacy, even from Woz. (who later rectracted it) But the Mac (and broader tech) community pulled together and got him through to the next round. The next show is a double-elimination, with two "stars" sent home. Can he pull it off?

Woz Really Needs Your Help

Ok. It wasn't pretty. It left the judges holding their heads in their hands. But the bottom line is, you can tell Woz is having a lot of fun out on that dance floor on Dancing With The Stars. It was a brutal judging round though, putting Woz at the bottom. As they so frequently say on the show though, and we hope they're right, it's your votes that make the difference, so head over to ABC.com and vote for Woz and his partner Karina Smirnoff.

Good For You, Woz!

There's quite a tizzy in the blogosphere today. ABC has officially announced Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak will be part of the next season of Dancing With The Stars, and all I can say is, good for you, Woz.

I won't mention names, but there are some Silicon Valley execs that would do well to remember to live a little now and then. You can only tweak chips, and sit in front of a computer for so long. Woz has made a practice of doing what he wants to do, and enjoying life along the way. There's no better way.

Now we just have to hope ABC keeps the show at 8PM on Monday and not 9. We'd hate to compete directly with Woz with TDL Live. Go get em, Woz!
