Star Trek Saturday, Episode Three - Where No Man Has Gone Before

Kirk and the gang are back again. In re-watching these episodes, and seeing some for the first time, I never realized just how prevalent the multi-level chess board would be. I suppose working with a tight budget, when you had a nice prop, you tended to use it every chance you'd get. That's something we can relate to here at TDL.

At any rate, the episode jumps right in as a ancient distress call is heard... Will Uhura sing in this episode? You'll just have to watch!

Question: This episode was originally shot as the pilot episode, hence no Uhura, or McCoy. Does anyone know why this episode was shown third? If the network wasn't happy with it, I wonder why they decided to run it at all, and why third?

What would Kirk Tweet?

"Above all else a God needs compassion!"

Good for an early/pilot episode. The aluminum foil in the eyes is a bit creepy, (despite being in a contact lens of some sort), tried not to think about it too much while watching.

The guy playing Gary Mitchell could hardly see out of those funky contact lenses which is why he always has his head tilted back while wearing them!

Don't know why it was third...
