But if you have to install, I would suggest the Snow Leopard version. Failing that. Ubuntu as the low end version is your next choice. Just avoid the intermediate versions with names like Home, Pro and Ultimate.

I can think of a couple of places where it would be best installed. Just keep some pliers handy to retrieve the disk if necessary.
