Doppelganger for the iPhone and iPod Touch Video Review

As a kid, I was a big fan of the Concentration-style board games: flip over a card, then try to find a match by flipping over another card. Make more matches than the other players, and you win! Doppelganger brings the same kind of play to the iPhone. Doppelganger is fast-paced, pairing a certain number of cards with a maximum number of missed matches per round. Do well (especially on the bonus rounds) and you'll have more chances on the higher, more difficult levels.

It's fast-paced, simple, and addictive.

Crazy Pirate Slots for the iPhone and iPod Touch

Why go to Vegas when you can have the slot parlor right on your iPhone!? There are nearly as many variations on slot machine games for the iPhone as you would find in an actual casino. Today we take a quick look at one of them: Crazy Pirate Slots.

No "multiple line" play here: this is straight-up match-three slot action, with a fun pirate theme, and a pirate who encourages (or discourages) you along the way. Here's a look:

Hotel Mogul for the iPhone and iPod Touch Video Review

We can't all be Paris Hilton, so here's your chance to be a Hotel Mogul. Hotel Mogul plays like SimCity, with you controlling building, repairing, and buying properties to meet specific revenue/hotel goals on each level. Be sure to take the time to go through the tutorial to better understand how to build and upgrade your properties. You get a fun game, in which before long you start caring about your properties, and want to experiment to see how you can get your hotels built and profitable as quickly as possible.

Knife Toss for the iPhone and iPod Touch Video Review

I'll be honest: I didn't really think I'd enjoy a knife toss game all that much, but Knife Toss proved me wrong. A combination of fun graphics, fast levels and surprising extras make it a delight.
A clown is strapped to a revolving target, surrounded by balloons. Simply throw the knives and break the balloons without inflicting too much pain on the clown, and do it within the alloyed time, and you'll be moving on to the next level. Power tip: watch for the bonus round dropdowns, as those are the key to replenishing the clown's health, and increasing time for each level.
OpenFeint leaderboards and accomplishments keep you coming back for more from what is a surprisingly addictive game.

Mighty Miyo for the iPhone and iPod Touch Video Review

They say build a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door. While cute, the folks behind Miyo Mouse don't have to worry about a rush to their door just yet. In Miyo Mouse, you navigate a mouse on a game board, trying to avoid mousetraps and falling meatballs (the developers call them fireballs) while gathering cheese, and returning to the home position.

The problem? The controls are frustrating: right and up directional buttons are on the right side of the game, with down and left controls to the left. Two big buttons (as well as blank space underneath the buttons) allow you to stop your mouse in its tracks. A more traditional directional pad placement of the buttons would go a long way toward making the game better. Some sound effects, and less reliance on stock music would be great as well. And as for those falling meatballs, they had frustration rather than difficulty to the game. Here's a look:
