PhotoCaddy for the iPhone and iPod Touch

We're gearing up for our trip to MacWorld in San Francisco next month. And any visit to a new place means plenty of photos. Unfortunately, on a trip like this, it also means we won't have a lot of time. PhotoCaddy is an app that can help by giving you basic suggestions for different shooting scenarios, including recommended ISO settings, f-stop, etc.

It also includes essential tips that while often are quite obvious, it doesn't hurt to have a refresher. For the budding photographer, looking to keep the basics nearby, and some quick tips to make the shoot go smoothly, and quickly, check out PhotoCaddy:

iSamJackson for the iPhone and iPod Touch Video Review

iSamJackson marks perhaps the highest profile star getting involved with the creation of an iPhone app. Samuel L. Jackson has created hundreds of original sound clips for the app, and its add-on packs. Both "clean" and "explicit" versions of the app are available for $1.99.  Unfortunately, you won't find any of Jackson's famous movie lines due to copyright restrictions, but the developer says they are exploring additional content options for future updates.

There's also an "Ask iSamJackson" feature in which Jackson replies to your questions with magic 8 ball-esque responses. Additionally, there's an app that "scans" your fingerprint, followed by a Jackson quip. This particular feature seems the least useful (as useful as an app of Samuel Jackson voice clips could be).

Puppy Park for the iPhone and iPod Touch Video Review

Puppy Park is a straightforward strategy game, cleverly dressed up with puppies (who doesn't like puppies!?) and catchy music. The premise is simple enough: arrange a series of striped colored cards so that cards with like colors are next to each other. String together enough cards, and you move on to a progressively more difficult level.

There are three difficulty levels, but even the easy level can present quite a challenge. Puppy Park is another addictive, fun, quick iPhone game if you want a quick strategy game on the go.

Halp Advice Generator for the iPhone and iPod Touch

I think for most people, there's no end to friends who are more than willing to give you bad advice. But if somehow you've made it through life without these kinds of friends, then there's Halp. Halp is simply an app loaded with bad advice. Shake the phone, get new (bad) advice. Should you buy Halp? Well, Halp would say yes.

Ready, Steady, Go for the iPhone and iPod Touch Video Review

Ready, Steady, Go is a simple interpretation of the old carnival game of trying to move a metal loop from the top to the bottom of a metal rod, without touching the rod. In the digital world though, RSG can provide all kinds of shapes you won't find at the local fair. The game is quite simple, but then again, I'm not sure how many bells and whistles one should expect from this type of game.

If you like this kind of game in real life, then this is a no-frills re-creation of the real thing.
