This Book Is It Worth It For This Picture Alone

There he is. Steve Jobs in a quiet moment in his "home office" as some have called it, circa 1982. The image is from the book "The Bigger Picture" by Diana Walker. While the book is full of great portraits, there's just something about this one that perfectly captures a certain time period on the history of Steve Jobs and Apple. Note the lack of a computer, but the turntable in the back. I'm guessing that's a Dylan album back there. Well worth picking up. The Bigger Picture.

You missed one great point in this picture.
The lamp in the photo to his left is an Original Tiffany Studios Lamp base and shade.
This lamp would go at auction today some where near a million dollars(if not more, I have not been keeping up). This lamp is one of the great icons of the American Gilded age and now is normally only seen in auction catalogues and museums.
This shows to me that Steve Jobs, is a person that has great sophistication when it comes to appreciating
design and quality. The two aspects of his computers that have helped build such a following, and landed
many of his products in museums.
This picture also helps to show that Apples place in world product history is not an accident
by a bumbling rube. His sensibilities are clearly demonstrated in this picture. And we can see
demonstrated the driving force behind Apple on it's acendency under his direction.

Now I can see why Steve wanted the iPhone with just one button. He sure doesn't believe in clutter. Talk about spartan. That is simplicity at it's best.
